Baylin Lamee
French Horn Soloist
Music has been what my whole life has revolved around. Not in such a way where my parents made me play piano at 4 years old, but in the way that music has become so prevalent in my life that my mom tells me that she knows I’m in a good mood when I have a tune in my head. It is the soul of my emotions and motivation. So, doing band in 7th grade just felt normal. And that's where I met my French horn teacher, Mr. Golden. Thanks to him, my passion for music has been cultivated through French horn and I have been able to find success on this journey.
Thanks to all of my mentors: Mr. Lesser, Mr. Gabrielson, Mr. Vargas, and Mr. Rogers, my passion for music has been honed and cultivated over the years. And because of this, I’ve even been able to learn about myself.
My next four years of education resides at Southern Methodist University. I intend to excel at anything and everything I do. I also intend to become a professional horn player in a major orchestra. Thank you to everyone who has made my music journey possible and thank you to all of the friends that I have made along the way.
