From the Director’s Desk
Welcome back from Spring Break. Hope everyone had a relaxing week to refresh for the push to the end of the school year.
Band Parent Meeting

Tuesday, April 14, 5:30 pm in the Lecture Hall. We want to spend some time discussing end of the year events and have Robin Wilson talk about some goals for our community and band parents for the 2026-27 school year. Please join us.
Color Guard Workshops and Auditions

Will begin Tuesday, April 21, after school. The color guard is back on the clock. We can’t wait to work up to prepare for our Marching Band season and a return to Dayton Ohio in 2027 for our second trip to the WGI World Championships, only this time in the Open Class.
There will be lots of information coming up for color guard parents to help set us up for a successful school year.
Rodeo Parade

The schedule for the Rodeo Parade is posted on Cuttime. Due to our successful win during last year’s Rodeo Parade Battle of the Bands, we get to lead the parade this year. It does mean a bit earlier call time. However, the benefits are we will be finished earlier and we shouldn’t have to worry about navigating through piles of horse poo. 🙂

Chamber Concert

Monday, April 27, at 6:30pm will be our annual Spring chamber concert. It is a great evening of student-led small ensemble playing.
Tickets are $5.00 at the door. We hope you will celebrate this rewarding evening of music.
Spring Jazz Band Concert
Tuesday, April 28, will be our GR and CN Spring Jazz Concert. 7pm start time, $5.00 tickets at the door. Our jazz bands have improved immensely this year under the leadership of Mr. Dewhirst. There is some great ensemble playing as well as some fantastic solos coming from both our middle school and high school students. You don’t want to miss this one.
Percussion Ensemble Concert
In a week full of music making, please join us on Wednesday, April 29, for our annual Percussion Ensemble Concert led by Mr. Gabrielson. The students are working to prepare numerous solos, small groups and large percussion ensemble pieces for your enjoyment. The more the merrier. 7pm start, $5.00 tickets.
Spring Band Concert
Wednesday, May 6, will be our final concert of the year. Please join us for a musical celebration to culminate the school year.
We will get to hear some fun and exciting music from our four concert bands, as well as feature some amazing senior soloists.
7pm start, $ 5.00 tickets.
Chocolate Bar Fundraiser

We have lots of chocolate money that needs to be returned. But we still have 44 boxes of chocolate available to sell. That is $ 4,400.00 in profit that can be made to help the band program. If you have a box checked out, please return the money to Mr. Rogers Feel free to pick up another box so we can get this all gone.
26-27 Leadership Team Applications and Auditions

Applications for Drum Major, Color Guard Captains, and Section Leaders will be available next week.
Applications will be due Thursday, April 23. Auditions will take place on Thursday, April 30, after school.
A schedule will be created for auditions so students do not have to wait for hours at the end of the day.
Awards Banquet
Please join us to celebrate an amazing school year of music-making at our annual awards banquet on Wednesday, May 13. Ticket order forms for this event will go live next week. It is a great evening that is catered by Cool Hand Lukes. We will celebrate all of our seniors, hand out some awards to many students from all of our ensembles, and have one more chance to be together as we wrap up this school year.
Transportation Team: Class A Drivers Needed

We are looking to expand our equipment transport team. Dennis has been our dedicated driver since 2011, and while he isn't fully retiring yet, we are looking for substitute drivers to begin a transition period.
If you or someone you know holds a Class A License and is interested in supporting the band, please contact Mr. Gabrielson or Mr. Lesser. If you have ever been interested in earning your Class A license, we would also love to discuss how we can help you through that process. This role is vital—without drivers, our program cannot travel.

Message from Robin Wilson, CN Band Booster President

Hello Band Family,
Thank you to everyone who supported our Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser! Orders will be available for pickup in the band room on May 5th from 3:30–6:00 PM. We truly appreciate your continued support of our program.
I am also excited to share that our annual Crab Feed Fundraiser raised nearly $15,000 for our band program! This incredible success would not have been possible without the time, effort, and generosity of our amazing band community. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, attended, and helped bring this event together—it was truly a team effort.
As we approach the end of the year, I hope to see you at our upcoming concerts. These performances are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the growth, dedication, and accomplishments of our students throughout the year.
Thank you for being such an important part of our band family!
Robin Wilson
CN Band Booster President

Thank you all for your support of our programs.
Have a great week!
David Lesser, Director of CNEC Bands
