Message from Robin Wilson, CN Band Booster President

We’re working to make our band program stronger, more connected, and more supportive for every student—and we need your input to do that well.

We know that every family’s situation is different. Schedules are full, commitments are real, and being involved can look different from one family to the next. Our goal is not to add more to your plate—it’s to better understand what makes involvement easier, more realistic, and more meaningful for you.

To help us do that, we’ve created a short, anonymous survey. It takes about 3 minutes to complete, and your honest feedback will directly shape how we structure communication, volunteer opportunities, and family support moving forward.

Even if you haven’t been involved yet, your voice is especially important. This is our chance to learn what’s getting in the way—and what we can do better.

We are aiming for strong participation so we can make decisions based on the full picture of our band community, not just a small group of voices.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your perspective and for supporting your student and our program.

Robin Wilson

CN Band Booster President

Instrument Check IN/OUT

In an effort to get ahead of the process, we would like to start CNEC Instrument Check IN/OUT.

ALL students, who currently have a CNEC instrument(s), please clean the instrument(s) thoroughly, return the instrument(s) to Mr. Rogers, get it inspected, and re-checked-out.

ALL students, who currently have a CNEC instrument(s) they no longer use, please bring your thoroughly cleaned instrument(s) to Mr. Rogers as soon as possible for inspection and check-in.

Grade 9-11 students, who will be using the exact same instrument(s) next year, please bring the thoroughly cleaned instrument(s) to Mr. Rogers to re-check-out the instrument(s) for 2026-2027 school year.

Grade 9-11 students, who would like an updated CNEC instrument(s), please notify Mr. Rogers as soon as possible.

Seniors, who currently have CNEC instrument(s), please thoroughly clean and return the instrument(s) to Mr. Rogers for check-in after you are done using it.

Color Guard Workshops and Auditions

Color Guard Workshops and Auditions will begin Tuesday, April 21, after school.

The color guard is back on the clock.  We can’t wait to work up to prepare for our Marching Band season and a return to Dayton Ohio in 2027 for our second trip to the WGI World Championships, only this time in the Open Class.

There will be lots of information coming up for color guard parents to help set us up for a successful school year.

26-27 Leadership Team Applications and Auditions

Applications for Drum Major, Color Guard Captains, and Section Leaders are available now, see Mr. Lesser.

Applications will be due Thursday, April 23. Auditions will take place on Thursday, April 30, after school.

A schedule will be created for auditions so students do not have to wait for hours at the end of the day.

Clovis Rodeo Parade, April 25

The schedule for the Clovis Rodeo Parade on April 25 is posted on Cuttime & below.

Due to our successful win during last year’s Rodeo Parade Battle of the Bands, we get to lead the parade this year. It does mean a bit earlier call time.  However, the benefits are we will be finished earlier and we shouldn’t have to worry about navigating through piles of horse poo. 🙂

  • 7:00am If you do not need uniform assistance arrive and get dressed in uniform

  • 7:30am GR students arrive

  • 7:45am Load bus

  • 8:00am Depart CN

  • 8:15 Arrive downtown Clovis stage parade block and warm up

  • 9:30am Parade begins

  • We are in division  which is the beginning of the parade

  • 10:15am depart to come back to school

  • If there is horse poo on you band shoes, please leave them outside the band room before you put your uniform away.

Chocolate Bar Fundraiser

We have lots of chocolate money that needs to be returned.  But we still have 44 boxes of chocolate available to sell. That is $ 4,400.00 in profit that can be made to help the band program.  If you have a box checked out, please return the money to Mr. Rogers Feel free to pick up another box so we can get this all gone.

Awards Banquet

Please join us to celebrate an amazing school year of music-making at our annual awards banquet on Wednesday, May 13 @ 6pm.

Buy your Tickets Now!

It is a great evening that is catered by Cool Hand Luke's. We will celebrate all of our seniors, hand out some awards to many students from all of our ensembles, and have one more chance to be together as we wrap up this school year.

Transportation Team: Class A Drivers Needed

We are looking to expand our equipment transport team. Dennis has been our dedicated driver since 2011, and while he isn't fully retiring yet, we are looking for substitute drivers to begin a transition period.

If you or someone you know holds a Class A License and is interested in supporting the band, please contact Mr. Gabrielson or Mr. Lesser. If you have ever been interested in earning your Class A license, we would also love to discuss how we can help you through that process. This role is vital—without drivers, our program cannot travel.

Thank you all for your support of our programs.

Have a great week!

David Lesser, Director of CNEC Bands
