CN Band Newsletter 10.21.2025

From The Director's Desk

Happy week 10, and congratulations on a successful first competition. We look forward to many performances this week.

Friday, at the end of 7th period, the band will help with a run-through rally. Please wear your blue Property of CN Band shirt

Friday night, we are the away team at Buchanan vs. Clovis West. We will NOT use props during halftime

Saturday is the Golden State Tournament of Bands @ Lamonica Stadium. Thank you to all who have volunteered to help run this event.

5 Weeks till Championships! We now need to start thinking more about season changes, temperature changes, and people staying healthy.

PLEASE - wash your hands, cover your mouth, take your vitamins, do not share drinks with one another, and get as much rest as you can. The last thing we want is to have the band sickness travel through the group leading up to Thanksgiving! Thank you for your diligence with your health.

BAND PARENT MEETING TONIGHT

Please join us at 5:30 in the lecture hall for an important band parent meeting

STANDARD OF THE WEEK

ree

The Relentless Pursuit of Excellence

This standard is back for its second week! Now that we have been out to a competition and laid our program to the public, these last 5 weeks of the season will be the most difficult. There are still lots of members who need to become more proficient with their music and their marching. It gets easy now to coast to Championships. What we look for each year is a collective group of students who will sprint through the finish line. Once you can play your part and once you can march your drill… How well can you do it? How professional can you make it look and sound? Are we just a high school band? Or are we making the audience ask, “That’s a high school band? WOW!”

Continuing to unify as a team, buying into our values, and applying our standards daily will help us be proud of the product we create at the end of the season. If we have a collective attitude fueled by fire and excellence during every rehearsal, we will grow together, and time will go by quickly.

GSTOB

Is this Saturday at Lamonica Stadium. Thank you to all who have signed up to volunteer. We could not pull this event off without you. Please help us create a great rooter section at our home show. For more information, please go to www.westernbands.org for information.

These make wonderful gifts for family and friends!

Message from Robin Wilson, CN Band Booster President

It was wonderful to see such a large rooting section at last Saturday’s competition! Thank you for making the trek to show up for our kids! Thank you, also, to the prop crew volunteers, chaperones, and Feed the Band crew. You guys rock!

I look forward to seeing an even larger rooting section at Lamonica Stadium this Saturday. We will send out info of where we are sitting that evening. Let’s show up loud and proud for our Bronco Band & Guard!

Thank you to the volunteers who signed up to work at the competition this weekend. We appreciate you!

The Pie Sale officially kicks off on 10/27. The pies are DELICIOUS! Don’t miss out on the chance to order for your holiday celebrations.
