From The Director's Desk

Happy Tuesday!

We have just completed a busy and successful week of performances! Our talented students and dedicated staff delivered three very consistent performances on the field, showing remarkable growth and improvement. It was also a fantastic evening at the CUSD Band Day, topped off by our football team's thrilling final regular-season win!

We are now in the exciting homestretch of the marching band season. This week and next, we are learning new material and striving for even greater consistency and excellence.

This Thursday, we have our first-round playoff game at Buchanan High School, where we will be the away team.

We are gearing up for a wonderful opportunity to recharge with a well-deserved four-day weekend, as there is no football game this Friday night. Please be ready to hit the ground running and get right back to work after our brief time off.

Important Note for Next Week: The FULL BAND will enthusiastically rehearse on Thursday, November 3rd, since there is no school on Tuesday.

A huge thank you to all the parents who continue to support us in countless ways. Your outstanding efforts and commitment are truly appreciated and allow us to achieve wonderful things for our students!

STANDARD OF THE WEEK

Be Positive

There have been questions since last Saturday’s results about our placement and score from the Dublin Show. The best we can do is stay positive while asking questions like: Did we do all we could to be the best we could be? Did we see positive growth from GSTOB to Dublin? Do we still have room to grow? Were we proud of our performance last Saturday? I think the answer to all of those questions is an abundant yes!

For the next three weeks, we stay positive and focus on what we can do to be the best we can be together as a team. We enjoy the production we have created and project it positively to the people who will fill the stands to watch our performance.

We can remain a team with great character, taking care of business on and off the field, being courteous, and representing the band with professionalism in our words and our behavior. We can consistently remember all of our materials for rehearsals and performances. We can work together to create a positive, culminating experience for our marching band season, running through the finish line rather than slowing down before we get there.
