This means the CN Open Guard is two and a half weeks away from traveling to San Diego for our first WGI regional as an Open Guard.  The schedule is posted on Cuttime.  Ticket and contest information can be found at wgi.org.

Little Broncos

Our Little Broncos Elementary Guard has their third meeting today.  We are looking to add about 15-20 more students to the group.

US ARMY FIELD BAND CONCERT

We are very fortunate to have the US Army Field Band from Washington DC stop in Fresno and play a concert in our concert hall on Saturday February 21 in the Concert Hall.  Please see the information to procure tickets.

It will be required for Wind Ensemble students to attend this event.  Tickets are free.  This is one of the premier wind bands in the United States.

You won’t want to miss this.

Chocolate Bar Candy Sales

BEGINS TODAY!.  There has been an increase in the cost of the candy bar.  They were now $2.00 per bar, with each box containing 50 candy bars instead of 60.  We can raise a substantial amount of funds for the band, as well as our indoor programs, with this fundraiser.

NOTE: When you receive a box of chocolate, you are responsible for returning $100.00 for the sale of the bars.  Clovis North and the Clovis North Band are NOT responsible if bars or boxes become lost or stolen.  Please be mindful of this. Let’s just sell all this candy quickly.

Let’s go!!!

Crab Feed Information

Hi Band Family and Crab Feed Friends,

At our last Crab Feed meeting, we talked about the importance of filling some key positions to help the event run smoothly. These would be more than just a shift to sign up for on CutTime, but more like “chair” or “co-chair” positions involved in the planning process for the Crab Feed. We will be putting volunteer slots up on CutTime as well for folks to give their time on the day of the event, but more urgently for now are these remaining co-chair positions:

Silent Auction: We currently have 2 people and are looking for 1 more to co-chair. Brief description – asking for AND directing folks how/where to ask for donations from the community. There is an extensive spreadsheet that is used to help prevent the duplication of locations being asked. Assemble items collected into displays of different kinds, set up pricing sheets, set up the table at the event. Melissa has been our co-chair the last 2 years and can coach more on how best to get this role done.

2.       Viviana Wrighton

3.       _____________

Kitchen Leads: no cooking involved at this event, just food distribution. We use a pop-up kitchen area outside the back of the barn. This job makes sure it all runs smoothly – supervise the student (college student) volunteers who help us each year with serving the food out to the tables, refilling water pitchers, bussing tables, etc. Our Kitchen Leads are in charge of the timing and flow of the evening, which is SUPER important. Anyone with previous restaurant, food service, or hospitality experience would fit perfectly. Looking for 2 people to co-chair this role.

Supplies: this was the 1st volunteer role I took on as a Freshman Band Mom. We have LOTS of the items we typically use for this event already in the band storage room at school. Things like: napkins, serving utensils, water glasses, aluminum cups for the draft beer, coffee pots, chaffing dishes, water pitchers, butter ramekins, coffee, sugar packets, bowls for tables, etc., etc., etc. There is some shopping involved and funds used are from donations we secure (Silent Auction team helps get these donations) – gift cards from Costco, Winco, Sam’s Club, grocery stores, etc. Looking for 1 person for this role.

1.       ________________

Heads or Tails Game: guests buy bead necklaces and then there’s a game that will be played with the winner receiving 50% of the funds collected from necklace purchases. Help sell entries (necklaces), make sure funds are collected, work with our M.C. to run the game before the night is done. This can also be done in shifts, however, looking for 1 person to take charge of this profit center.

Payment Collection/Settling Up at Checkout: collect payments from guests for any items they purchased from the wine pull, drink tickets, dessert auction, heads or tails game, silent auction at the end of the evening. Further instruction will be given on the file system. There will most definitely be a team for this, but looking for 1 person to be the chair of check-out.

Please let me know by next Friday, Feb 13th, which chair position is your best fit.

Also, please see the attached files for our donation letter for this year, which can be given to anyone donating towards our silent or dessert auctions, and please help SPREAD THE WORD using either the attached digital flyer to share on social media (jpeg file) or the printable flyer (pdf file).

Ticket sales are LIVE! Grab yours while you can!  bit.ly/2026crab-feed
