CN Band Newsletter 11.18.2025

From The Director's Desk

It’s CHAMPIONSHIPS WEEK!!!!! Well, here we are.  We have worked tremendously hard over the last 16 weeks and are preparing for the last week of competition.

This has been a season of learning.  We have faced various challenges, including illness, injury, and inclement weather.  Through all of that, we have a great group of students and staff who have worked together to craft something artistic that we should be proud of.

I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to ALL of our parents who continue to be the support the students and staff need to operate.  We are ALL a team.  We can’t do it without the help of our families.  Thanks to our Chaperones, Feed the Band Crew, Uniform Parents, Pit Crew, Truck Drivers, Photographers, Show host volunteers, prop crew, and the countless other ways you have supported our students, thank you!

Whatever happens this weekend, be proud to be a BRONCO! Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break and be excited for what is left to come in the school year as a member of the Clovis North Band and Color Guard

CHAMPIONSHIPS VOLUNTEERS

We REALLY NEED YOUR HELP THIS WEEKEND!!!

We have the privilege to help host our state championships marching band event.  This is an honor, a money maker, and money saver as we get the chance to have our championships in our home stadium, sleeping in our own beds while groups from across California will be staying 3+ nights in a hotel with bus and food costs the like.

We need to fill ALL of these volunteer positions…PLEASE.  We are getting really close to having everything filled in.

  • Saturday - 6 volunteer slots open

  • Sunday - 5 volunteer slots open

TUESDAY REHEARSAL

Tonight is our final Tuesday night rehearsal.  It might be the last chance you have to see a full run-through of the show.  Please join us on the track field, north side bleacher's around 8:30pm to celebrate the students and their marching band season.

STANDARD OF THE WEEK

CELEBRATE!

This isn’t currently one of our standards.  However, this week we need to think about CELEBRATING!

Celebrate the time we have spent together, celebrate the improvements large and small, celebrate the transformation every performer has gone through since the beginning of the school year, celebrate our success, celebrate our pitfalls, celebrate our community, celebrate our product, and celebrate the conclusion of what has been an inspiring 16 weeks of hard work.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR ALL - STATE MEMBERS

There are four levels of concert bands and one jazz band.  There were over 150 high schools represented in these groups.  Each year it becomes more competitive to earn a spot in these groups.  Of all high schools represented, 13 schools have 8 or more student participants.  Most of the 13 schools have double the size band as we do.  It is a testament to the teaching, philosophy, and dedication of these students and their teachers who make this possible.

The top ensemble is the Wind Symphony, followed by Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Golden State Band…  Again, to earn a spot in any of these ensembles is an honor and a challenge.

Congratulations to the following students who earned positions in the CBDA All-State Ensembles.  They will represent us in Sacramento at CASMEC this January!!!

  • Hunter Hatfield - Alto Sax - Wind Symphony

  • Alex Fisher – Alto Sax – Symphonic Band

  • Luke Noordmas – Tenor Sax – Symphonic Band

  • Andy Fisher – String Bass – Symphony Orchestra

  • Eleanor Huntley - Flute - Concert Band

  • Nathan Hazelrigg – Trombone – All-State Jazz Band

  • Gus Alley - Bari Sax - All-State Jazz Band

Message from Robin Wilson, CN Band Booster President

Hello Band Family,

Come out to watch the final run-through at the last Tuesday night rehearsal TONIGHT! It's a fun way to wrap up the season.

Thursday 11/20 is Pie Pick Up! Pick up will be from 4:00 - 6:00pmAll pies not picked up by 6:00pm will be donated.  Thank you to all who participated in this fundraiser!

We are still in need of your help for this weekend's Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium!  We need 7 more volunteers on Saturday and 10 more volunteers on Sunday.  It is essential that we fill all of these volunteer slots in order for the event to go smoothly and for us to receive our cut of the proceeds.

Thank you, in advance, for filling these remaining volunteer spots and for a successful marching band season.  If you are having trouble signing up via CutTime, please text me and I will get you signed up.

Let's show up LOUD and PROUD for our Bronco Band and Guard this weekend! Stay tuned on competition day for the location of our rooting section.

As always, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns!
